CAF is pleased to welcome onboard, as our new Chief Executive Officer, Samantha O’Connor

Samantha brings to CAF strong commercial and good governance skills from her 20 years of experience working in funds management, investment banking and financial services in Australia and Japan.

CAF Chairman, Tony Beck, commented that “Samantha has joined CAF at a pivotal time in our development. Her senior executive experience in financial services, sustainability and governance will ensure CAF’s continuing success in providing assurance in the cleaning services supply chain to protect vulnerable workers. She is well placed to take CAF’s success to the next level”.

Tony continued “I would like to thank outgoing CEO, Poonan Datar for her dedication, leadership and vision of CAF. Under her leadership CAF has achieved many milestones including: launching and expanding Building Certification to 6 states; launching Contractor Prequalification; and growing our membership. In alignment with our strategic plan, the CAF team has grown substantially in the last financial year, and CAF is now more resourced than ever to meet the demand for our industry best practice services”.

Samantha said “It is an exciting time to join CAF, as we work to scale the Certification Scheme and offer expanded services to building owners, building managers, contractors and cleaners.”

“Fair pay and decent working conditions are basic rights of work. It has been shocking to me to see that, despite Australia having some of the strongest workplace protections, exploitation of cleaners is widespread. I look forward to working collaboratively with our stakeholders to support workers to achieve their labour rights and stamp out exploitation.”

We are delighted to have Samantha on board as our new CEO and are confident that her skills and experience will accelerate  the expansion of CAF’s impact and reach. The CAF team and Board look forward to what the future has in store.
